Title: Dewalt 18v shop vac makes a pretty good bee vac
Post by: Bill W. on July 22, 2008, 08:51:00 PM
I removed the filter and put some window screen inside the vac container.  I used it today to clean up stragglers after removing a swarm.  It worked nicely - few dead bees.  It is a pretty weak vacuum to start with, but that seems good for bees.  I would need to work out a way to fit a container inside for big jobs.

The big advantage is that it runs on a battery pack.

Heh, I read this subject headline wrong.  I was thinking amps instead of volts, so I thought you were saying 18amp shop vac makes a good bee vac, and I was like
