Title: Mid West Honey Flow
Post by: BMAC on August 04, 2008, 08:59:32 AM
Well any other Mid Westerners out there notice a very heavy honey flow resulting in a very very light amber honey????

Just curious...  The honey I have been pulling off the hives lately has been right at 19% water content   :( which means the dehumidifiers have been working OT in the garage and still are not pulling out enough water to impact it......

We had a very strong flow from Black Locust trees and clover early on. I think this was the source of the real light honey. I extracted some yesterday that was beautifully capped and it was almost clear. Then the rains just kept coming, about every other day and that really knocked the wind out of the sails. Better than last year though. By the way we are up in Louisiana MO.
