I found some wax moth larva in two of my weaker hives. I scraped out the large ones, sprayed the frames with Certan, and condensed the hive. Will the Certan kill the remaining larva and eggs or do I have to freeze the frames? I sprayed each frame very good.
Please advise, Steve
My understanding is the larvae have to ingest the bt. So the remaning larvae will be killed after ingesting bt the eggs will hatch and the larvae eat the bt. Thus eventually ending the cycle.
If you sprayed them all that should do it. Freezing is another method, but, of course, would kill any brood in the comb.
