Title: Hot and Heavy Pollen (from a Newbee)
Post by: josbees on August 26, 2008, 10:49:56 AM
For the past few weeks there has been pretty much nothing coming into my hive, causing me to start worrying and think about beginning feeding, then all of a sudden over the last four or five days, the girls are coming in absolutely weighted down with pollen.

Can anyone give me an idea as to what is producing pollen at this time in the Northeast?  I've looked at a couple of maps without much luck.  If I can figure out where it's coming from I'm gong to plant whatever it is in my yard.

Thanks as always!

Best source for answer local beekeeper. This time of year goldenrod is a prime suspect for us here in the south and I imagine for you also.
