Title: Hello all
Post by: RickeyENC on September 04, 2008, 10:31:32 PM
My introduction post here. I am City Letter Carrier in coastal North Carolina. I had a hive when I was a Sophomore to Senior in High school from 1979-1981. The last few years the bug has gotten to me again and I am planning on starting a couple hives in my backyard come spring. In the meantime I am reading, reading, and reading. I have also joined the local beekeeping club and a couple forums to help me learn even more. My son is also excited about the hobby so that also makes me happy, still having problems getting him to read but he does go to the meetings with me. Although I think he really likes  the yummy goodies that alway seem to be at the meetings. I am not normally a big poster but I am always looking for something interesting to read and frequent forums allot. Anyway that is all I can think of for the moment. Thanks for letting me join your forum and look foreward to getting to know you all.

Welcome to the forum. I as well do this with my boys which are 9 and 11. They both have their own hives that they take care of plus they help me out like you won't believe. I think it is great to do this with the kids, our future beekeepers of tomarrow.

Rickey, welcome to our forum.  You are under the spell of the honeybee, that is clear to see.  Wait until you get reunited with that wonderful and magical kingdom.  So nice that your Son is interested too.  If he doesn't read, that is OK, you can tell him stuff that you are reading, sometimes reading can be something that just plain and simply does not interest some.  How old is your Son?  This will be a place where you can read, as questions, tell us your stories, tales and experiences -- you will also make some very good friends.  Waiting for your bees next year will be a lesson in patience, and then......have the most wonderful and awesomely great day, Cindi
