Title: feeding back uncured extracted honey.
Post by: renmag on September 23, 2008, 12:20:45 PM
How would I feed uncured extracted honey back to the bees?  Do I have to dilute it or can i just pour it into my hive top feeder?
Thanks for any help.

i put mine in old cookie sheets about 125 yds from the hives, a few drown but thousands make the trip.

The hive top feeder should work fine.  They will finish it up quicker if it is diluted, but then it will spoil quicker too.

I would not dilute it because it will spoil faster.

Thanks for your input.  Gave the honey back one gallon to 1/4 gallon of H20 and it was gone in two days.  If it is stored I guess it won't ferment. Ya???

Correct, the bees will reconstitute the right mix by evaporating the excess water.
