Can someone give us the gist of what happened to Sgtmjr's bees?
Hmmm...The jist.......I'm pretty sure they were cooked....In his last post he had mentioned that there was even melted comb in his hive.
The situation reminded me of sometimes when you change the oil in your car. You know what you're doing. You've done it a hundred times or more...You've taken out the plug in the pan...taken the filter off...drained the oil....replaced the filter... put new oil in..Then drive around for a week or so until you see oil all over your drive way...You open the hood, only to find that you never put the oil fill cap back on the valve cover :?
I think most of us have done that at one time or another.
Sarge had it all goin' on...By the book.....But he just forgot to open the door for the bees to go in and out... I bet experts have done sillier things than this.
When I got my first bees I pulled out the wrong cork in the queen cage..had to get another queen after I finally saw that there wasnt one in one of the hives. The book didnt tell me about what a "Candy plug" looked like.
Well, there ya go!

Heh...I didn't even pull the cork out. Didn't know to. It took them a week to chew the cork and the candy plug out. All things considered it was still good time if you ask me.
Yayyy Bassman!!
I guess we can call ourselves "Experts"now huh?...You just rate a step higher than me! :-D
