Just wondering -- I have a lovely new mouse guard from Bee Commerce and am wondering how to install it. there are a couple nail holes on the tall side, but I was thinking I might @#$$ the girls off if I start hammering on their house. Should I give it a try?

I used to make my own mouse guards out of #4 hardware cloth, the bees could still get through. 1/4 inch is a little tight for the bees so 3/8 might be a better choice. I used to cut it into a strip 2 inches wide and the length of the entrance is wide. I bent it into a L with 1 inch sides. A few staples from a staple gun did the install. It was on and done so fast the bees didn't react.

I use thumb tacks.
Yes, they don't like it at all.
But you don't need to get the nail in very far. If you are worried then suit up, it is a good idea. Although it is really hard to hold and hammer nails when wearing gloves...

Greg uses a screw gun. Quick and out!
