Title: frames of pollen
Post by: danno on October 13, 2008, 09:54:47 AM
I found one of my hives completly robbed and killed.  This hive was heavy alittle over a week ago.  In the bottom they had stored five full frames of pollen that was left by the robbers.  I put these in the freezer 2 days ago.  How and when should I use these?

You can put a box full of pollen at the bottom of a hive overwintering to help them in the late winter with the "spring" buildup.  Walt Wright calls his variation of this the "pollen box" maneuver.
