It was suggested that I use a bag of menthol crystals dissolved in 32 oz of canola oil against Tracheal mites.  This mixture was then poured into a baggie containing about 15 folded paper towels.  Once the towels were saturated I put one towl on top of the frames in the top deep.  Now I'm reading conflicting info -- that I should have used two bags of crystals to only 8 oz of oil for 15 or 20 towels.  I did notice when I put the towel in the hive that oil was running down the frames.  Do you think this is going to be a problem?  will the oil harm the bees and/or the honey store?
I previously posted this in the general forum -- apologies.
