This is tragic for England and a dire warning for the rest of the world. Governments need to support research into what is happening to bee's. They also need to be taking a much harder look at what the chemical industry and mega-farming are doing to the environment. My 2 cents. Winenutguy.
The weather has been really screwy in GB this year, they had snow in London in Oct, first time since the 1880's. With the last settled snow being on April 6th this is the shortest time between snowfalls in over 70 yrs. What makes it even more strange is with the "global warming" the Arctic ice is further north than it was last time is snowed this early, also sea temperatures around the country are higher. This combined with a wet summer is going to leave bees with insufficient stores to get them to next spring, England could be headed for a winter die off the likes of which they have never seen before. I grew up in England and unlike here where we get snow every year, just a question of how much, back there I could count the number of times snow settled on one hand in a 15 yr period.
