Well the conference starts today. Yesterday was so hectic I am amazed I got through it. Dee's plane came in 25 minutes early and Michael's plane came in 25 minutes late. I didn't get to bed until 2:30am. Now I am off to get everything open and ready to go. It's going to be in the 70s today.

Sincerely,
Brendhan

Dallas just called and passed the phone around. Had the pleasure to briefly speak with Dee Lusby and Michael Bush, Brendhan (Understudy) and a few other Beemaster members. It sounded like they were in a bar as there was lots of background noise. Brendhan also happened to mention they were drinking margaritas! Sounds like they are lit up and living it up! Dallas said there was a great turnout. Can't wait to hear more details.

The conference is over now. I am thrilled with how it went but even now after a night's sleep I am still drained and my legs still feel the pain of this weekend. I have a few photos but not many because I was so busy. I asked pdmattox if he had any and he looked at me like I was nuts. Because he was so involved in the conferce he never got to take very many. Well no one was bored that was for sure.

As revenge for the conference the Department of Agriculture in Florida made a news release stating that 80% of all feral bees in Palm Beach County, Florida are AHB. The local news channels put out these stories Sunday and Monday morning.

When I have managed to reassemble my body into a more normal mode I will post some of the pictures and stories. Right now Dee Lusby is up and wants to go beehives.

By the way it's in the 70's today and sunny.

Sincerely,
Brendhan

Wow, what a weekend, the speakers were great! I came away Inspired and motivated. I never did get a chance to take a picture before Michael Bush left but did get one last night at dinner of the rest of the group. So here is my one pic. Thanks Brendhan for putting this together and thanks to all that participated to make it as great as it was. Next year I hope to see even more people come.

I am working on editing some of the videos. I have learned one thing about myself from these videos. I have a voice that can project. I know I am loud but darn that thing doesn't ever need a microphone. :)

Sincerely,
Brendhan

Hi All,

The Intro to beekeeping (Southeast Organic Beekeepers Conference) included discussion with the speakers. The first one was Dee Lusby.

Dee Lusby is one of the greatest organic beekeepers in the world. She does not come without a dose of controversy. However her results speak for themselves. This was just a basic Q&A with her about some of her history and getting into beekeeping.

I apologize for the audio quality. I am not much of a video editor. I was just happy to Avidemux to convert the mpg to mp4. It only took me three weeks to figure it out. Someday I may add captions. I have more form the the other speakers. I will work on adding them.

I learned one thing. Even without a microphone my voice carries.

Sincerely,
Brendhan

Ramona Herboldsheimer discuss how she got into beekeeping. She and her husband Dean Stigitz (who was giving a lecture in the Advance classes) distribute organic honey in the New England area.

Ramona gave an incredible lecture on Microbial Culture in a Hive which I didn't video tape.

This discussion is split into two parts.

Sincerely,
Brendhan

Hi All,

I am going to put more videos. But do not be afraid to go to my channel and give those videos some 5 star ratings.

http://www.youtube.com/user/brendhanhorne (http://www.youtube.com/user/brendhanhorne)

Click on those videos that say Southeast Organic Beekeepers Conference and when they come up give them a boost. It does wonders for my ego.

Brendhan
