Title: Confirm Mold ok ?
Post by: malabarchillin on December 14, 2008, 03:57:37 PM
After extraction I open fed the supers back. After they were cleaned up I sprayed them with BT Azawai. They now have mold on them.

Is it true that the bees will clean this up well enough to harvest honey from ?
Thanks
Mike

I saw some wax chewins' yesterday so I looked in on them today!! I didnt get pasted opening the inner cover!!! wax chewin or not, there were plenty of bees chasing me away!! Today it got to 75 degrees or warmer and bees were trying to get thru my bedroom window!.Now we have a cold front blasting thru and I bet its 35 degrees now!

Yup, that will be just fine!

The little bit of water probably wetted the pollen and trace sugar enough to give the mold a field day.  If you can next time stack them so they get a little air so they dry out and you won't see that as bad.
