Title: Found another bee keeper in Lakeside
Post by: Irwin on December 28, 2008, 04:50:58 PM
This guy has one deep and three mediums. With the top slid over about 3/4 inch open to rain and wind. The first medium has a one inch hole in the top right. the second has a 1/2 inch hole in top right too. And the bees were out flying in full force. The guy that has them was not there but I talked to his neighbor and he has this hive just to catch swarm's off from it. I can't wait to talk the guy that has the hive. Have any of you heard of this style of beekeeping.

They're called bee-havers not beekeepers.  He probably gets a super or 2 of honey per year and that all he's interested in.  Does sound like a good swarm generator.
