Hey, all you beekeeping experts (self and otherwise proclaimed), do you want to test your beekeeping knowledge?
I ran across this site this afternoon. Located at goodbeekeeping.com's website, it is a 50 question test to see how much you know about the subject. If you take the test more than once, some of the questions will be different because the questions are randomly selected from a data base of a bunch of questions. The first time I took it, I scored 25 of 50. The second time, I scored 38 of 50. I figure I'll leave well enough alone and not take it again!
If you want to take the test, click:
http://www.gobeekeeping.com/Test.htm
If you decide to take the test, let us know how you did!
Hve fun!
beebiz
once again my darn fire wall wont let me through.
Hey Ryan,
If it will let you, copy and paste this link:
http://www.gobeekeeping.com/test.htm
Good luck,
beebiz
I'll take my 38 out of 50 and hit the books
I got 38 out of 50, too, but they said that's good!
44. I must have had an easy one.
33 out of 50
I got a 40 and a 42, but I've been hitting the books for the last year. I also think their wrong about the wind.
:D Al
I got a 41. Considering I don't have any bees yet, I guess that shows that lurking around a site like this can be very educational!
I tried but didnt get it to work, it is ok, thanks, bye
Hi all,
Ryan, I hate it that it wouldn't work for you! Maybe one of us will run across another test or the like and it will work for you.
Well, after seeing everyone else's scores, I don't feel so bad about mine! LOL Lesli, you are correct. For a score of 38, they say that we are "formidable" (formidable >adjective inspiring fear or respect through being impressively large, powerful, or capable. From the dictionary in my "Wrod Perfect II" program) beekeepers! Great job everybody!!
I hope everyone has enjoyed this. If you have, let me know. I'll be glad to share with all of you any other "interesting" things concerning honey bees that I come across!
Bee Good,
beebiz
36/50 here, but I agree with TT, some of their awnsers are up for review. I got caught on how many lbs of honey in a full frame. I said 6-7 they said 5-6. Oh well, no use sour grapeing!
No sour grapes here, either, but yes, I thought a few questions were ambiguous. But then, there are a lot of things about beekeeping that are like that. :)
40.

35
Darn, it won't work for me either. I can get to the first page, but the test won't load. Probabbly has something to do with the wireless, it acts up sometimes.
35 here. But I don't agree with spme of the answers, like opening up a hive in -10 degree weather to feed sugar???
i only got 33 :(
If you do better next time can we call you bee man?
LoL
Hi there, I tried the quiz, I got 29 out of 50 , not to bad for a brand new beekeeper. I'll try again after a few months
36-guess I have to learn more about flowers
I didn't think that was too bad. I'm happy with 37, given the text was densigned for beekeepers in the US.
Some of the questions were tricky or irrelevant, i.e. going from celcius to farenheit, converting the months of the year around, km/h to m/ph. When trees found in america flower is kind of irrelevant in Australia.
I, also failed the one about working the bees when the neighbours are having a party. That would depend on how far away your naighbours are wouldn't it?
Next time I shall use a calculator :).
Feel lucky with the test, got 41 right.
I got a 42 out of 50! :D
Hi,
You scored 19/50 correctly.
Ranking: You seem to have a working knowledge.
Working knowledge?
I've been looking around this site for about 2 hours. This is a pretty cool site.
My interest is definitley peaked.
Well that was a real eye opener for me 21/50. :P I see I still have a lot to learn. Thanks for the test it was a great site.
Finally took it. 33/50.
33/50 myself
35/50 I'm shocked that I picked up that much info in these forums.
Well I squeaked by with a pathetic 32/50. I've still got a long way to go!
...and when I get there I'll find I still haven't started!!!
hehehe. I've got 29....
35 out of 50 not too bad for a first year BeeKeeper i guess. Probably helped that I've been reading the ABC-XYZ of BeeKeeping and joined this forum.
38 out of 50....
First try: 42/50
Second go: 45/50
Hello
23/50
I have been READING about beekeeping for the past four weeks.
A few for the questions are usa inclined i'm in Australia
I have never seen a beehive YET!
I still have alot to learn
regards
BIGAL[/u]
I got a 34 but I'm in my first year so, I'll take it and keep my nose in the books. :P
Well 35/50 - still a ways to go.
But I've only been keeping bees a month now
Remeber, it's just like school, the secret isn't to give the right answers. It's to give THEIR answers. :)
Very good point. As the newbies will soon find out, there's more than one correct answer in beekeeping.
well... total bee ignorance - a bit of luck and common sense got me 22/50.
I can only go up from here!. Luckily for the little girls I dont have any hives .. YET!
I got 30/50... That'll teach them to take over an empty hive. :P
I tired hafway. Stupid questions :P
It woudn't work for me...got as far as 'begin test'...so I score 0!
25/50. I'm not disappointed, I've only had my hives for about three months and have been reading a lot.
24/50 here. Guess I'd better go hit the books
31/50 Dang..... And I just got through reading quite a few books! Oh well, time to review...
32/50 - said I was "adequate" . . . if he only knew. But there aren't some of the questions that I've seen referenced in earlier posts. Maybe he changes the test questions from time to time.
I only got 25 or 50. I got a lot to learn....
Funny thing is I was rather suprised I did that good! I guess my research has stuck some of it in my old head.
Only had the hive for a little over a week. But did do a good bit of reading before that.
35 OUT OF 50. I didn't think it was that good, but They call that "formidable".
40/50. it says "you're an excellent beekeeper." considering i've only had them for six weeks, that seems a little premature...
43/50 8)
Hi ALL
I scored a 38. I just got started this spring and it has been a wild ride. I made a few mistakes but I have learned from them. All-in-all, this is the most fun i have had with a hobbyin years. My wife said I have too many hobbies so I will stick with just the bees.
for only doing this for less than a year i guess i did all right a working knowledge 21/50 :)
34
23/50 but I know nothing and a lot of it doesnt apply to us, we have no snow, racoons or some of those diseases.
There are a few incorrect answers on the questionnaire. There are also a couple of dated questions. An example is about the "latest report" of africanized bees found in the wing of a plane in South Carolina. This was from 2002 which is rather dated compared to current reports of africanized bees in Florida. There is also a question about the various sugar contents of honey which states that sucrose is not a normal component of honey. Nectar as secreted by plants is sucrose which is then inverted by the bees to fructose and glucose. There is always a small amount of sucrose that is not inverted. It is typically 2% or less of the total sugar content of ripened honey. You can feed table sugar to bees and they will invert it from sucrose and make something similar to honey. The way you detect such adulteration is not by measuring the sucrose content, but rather by checking for the proteins made by sugar cane or sugar beets.

37, didn't think the test was put together very well, but it was fun
I took it 3 times and my best was 32. Guess, I need to hit the books.
First try I got 31/50, which supposedly makes me an 'adequate' beekeeper.
Some of the questions were irrelevant to beekeeping in general, such as the question re the date of the introduction of Africanized bees into the US & others. Other questions were irrelevant to the way I want to keep bees (avoid most chemicals.) And I got a lot of those wrong.
Having said that, I got a whole lot more right than I should have by pure guessing. After all there's a 25% chance of guessing right with four choices, and a 50% of guessing right with two choices. ;)
It was fun, though, and I'll probably take it again just for the fun of it and the chance that I might learn something. :)
i got a 26 out of 50 it said i was better than average bear which is good im a 18 yr old guy from Indiana and ive only been beekeepin for almost 2 years and havent looked at books to much just kinda learned stuff in the fields so i think i done pretty good but i think im gonna hit the books before i try again :)
Well, according to my second try, I'm now a "formidable beekeeper." ;)
I found this answer interesting:
Q. To make a weak colony stronger, you might ...
Correct A.
a. remove a strong hive from its stand and place the weak colony in its place
That makes sense if you figure that the forager bees from the strong hive will tend to come back to the weak hive. Otherwise it makes no sense at all ...

This will definitely work if you change hive places during the day when most foragers are out forageing. They come back to the hive location not the hive itself and in turn gives a boost to the weak colony with out any noticeale set back to the strong colony. This method works on drifting issues also.
Thanks, Dallas. :)

I got a 35 out of 50, or a C-. I'll take that sice I a so new that I don't have any bees yet. Just shows me that all this reading is maybe paying off. More reading is necessary, though.
I got 34 out of 50, which isn't all that great, although it did say I was a 'formidable beekeeper'. Need to keep reading and learning!
I got a 34 out of 50, a formidable beekeeper . . . yeah right. I don't cry when I get stung though. . .
39. Furrows brow, hits books.
Remember the questions though, those who are lamenting their scores, some of the questions were honey industry stats questions. Most beeks don't keep that stuf running around in your head. I think it would have been more fun if it was strickly beekeeping and bee biology. Byut I can be funny that way.
Keith
I just took it again and got a 45 out of 50. I wish my bees knew how smart I am. . . They don't respect me at all.
39
You scored 31/50 correctly.
Ranking: You are an adequate beekeeper.
Guess I need to do some studying!
got a 30 but...how can i know where AHB has spread with the help of an airplane  and it's not the only mysterious thing to me
35 out of 50, I thought I was going to do pretty good, since I'm fresh from reading so many books about the topic.
Guess I was wrong.
In my defense I will say that half of my wrong answers were because I didn't read the question throughly.
28 out of 50. Read lots of books 6 years ago. Spent two weeks reading all the shared knowledge on this forum. Thank you Beemaster.com. since I have yet to set up my first hive!
32 out of 50,
Hummm well back to the books for some more knowledge, poor pea brain can't hold much more. :-D
Wow I am an exhalted beekeeper. I don't even have bees til tomorrow. 45
Dave
39 out of 50, and 2 or 3 I new better, just in a hurry.
doak
Finally after 25 plus atempts got a fifty. And I'm still an exhalted beekeeper. I have too much time on my hands.
Dave
I got 26/50, IMHO, not bad for reading these forums for a week and having no bees for 18 years. :-P
Doesn't seem to work on a Mac.
Have you used the firefox browser from Mozzila to browse the web.It may work better. Also make sure your java apps are up to date. Ken
36 :( although thats supposed to be good (or o.k.) I was dissapointed in myself. I did choose the wrong answere to 1 of the questions that I knew. It was the ? about a drones mother father and grandfather. I think I read here on this forum about how a drone has a grandfather but no father. Anyway I read that somewhere and knew that was the answere but the way they listed the answeres tricked me. I missed two other ?'s that I would have gotten right if I would have went with my first instincts. I still after so many yrs. cant do that for ?'s that I dont know when taking a test. This is my first yr. beekeeping though + the yr. isnt even over yet so I guess I did o.k.
27/50 Just starting to learn and don't even own a hive .
stupid test :-X
only 31 but when i'm reading my wrong answers i'd answer them in the same fashion, some are just not all that obvious..
you would use a queen excludor for comb honey but...how to extract if you have brood over the honey frames...
stupid test.
40 out of 50
40/50 - I'm an excellent beekeeper :)
Too bad I don't have any bee yet and havn't even been near a live hive. :(
It is amazing what you can learn online.
Craig
30
Holy Cow, a 48 !! Guessed at two of them, ( total U.S. production and something about wax bloom ) and lucked out but other than that I'm happy. I think reading alot has more to do with a good result than experience.
Got a 32 and I don't even have bees........yet. Been doing lots of reading.
Though, as I've learned over the years - Reading = Preparation and Doing=Knowing.

32 out of 50 and I haven't started keeping yet. :-D I think I did ok I olny read beekeeping for dummies and backyard beekeeper so far. Gonna pick up abc/xyz of beekeeping next. 8-)
25 and 29. I'm really weak on disease.
I got a 36
i got 30/50 so sad ............................ i over it now you will like the book abc/xyz i do
31 out of 50. I don't have bees yet either, so I'm happy with that. :)
LOL I don't know nothing, I scored 27.. then again I could be book smart. We'll see what happens in real life when I get my first bees.
32 first and only try better hit the books with the webmaster!!!
I scored a 36, but I must admit I did a lot of guessing.
You scored 33/50 correctly.
Ranking: You are an adequate beekeeper
It's not letting me take the quiz!?!?! :-\
Not sure if the link has gone bad or it's me :?
How come the only poster with a BIG number of post to take the test and report there results was bee master??????? where is all the big number posters at???
by the way i got a 31 witch means i stink as a bee keeper and need to learn MORE... i feel bad now i should give away my girls to a good home :)

I had to go to the site directly...the link didn't work for me either.
Shane:
You need to look page two over again, several scored the same or better as me. I think I did wellbecause I'm a good test taker, and only an average beekeeper, surely the forum doesn't slow me down from being better, so I'll blame my own laziness.
I got 34/50. Been doing a lot of reading
32. I think I better hit the books.
-M
45--I need to study.
40. Didn't think that was bad for a 1st year beek. Some questions missed pertained to queen raising. Don't think I'm there yet. :)
Barb
hi every one
we are just coming out of winter her ,we have a month to go to spring.we have a slight flow starting now, the fuzzie box i
s starting to flower.this is my first season using stripes of foundation with no wire in frames as i won't to do the crush and strain method.
made 45/50 :-D
Ok I took the test
You scored 39/50 correctly.
Ranking: You are an excellent beekeeper.
Not gonna complain
I said 6-7 pounds of honey per frame.
:roll:It depends on the number of frames per honey super and or the spacing of the frames.
I have helped to check the weights of some very full 9 frames per super.
We weighed the super, extracted the honey, put the same frames back into the super, weighed the super and came up with 55 to 58 pounds!
Ten frames fully drawn out to the bottom bar should yield 3.5 to 4 pounds.
So, they need to change the questions structure.
I prefer the medium depth supers, 6 & 5/8" deep, for extracting

Ernie Lucas Apiaries
(Queen Breeder)
I scored 31 of 50, I SUCK! :(
39! Yay for beekeeper osmosis!
I can't get it to load I've tryed every thing :?
19/50 wow I need to learn a lot but I new that. I'll take it again next winter
Have a good day!
Chris
36/50
44/50 correct.
Apparently I'm an expert beekeeper (boy did they get that wrong!).
DW says it's because I'm reading to many beekeeping books :-)
Slaphead
39 I must have got all the easy questions. :)
32 /50 or about 64% which is a C or C- need to do more studying . Have yet to keep bees. Really liked the test . I need to take it few more times . thanks for the link to the test , good information. :)
hello !! :-D
I got 50/50. I think that I did something wrong. Noooooooo. Just kidding. I can't even get into the test for some reason.
I have a lot to learn and this test just confirmed it. I did learn some things from getting things wrong though.
29. It was tougher than I thought. Did know about honey dew. Read bout it yesterday CU Dave
42/50
23. I hang my head in shame. However, I do not have a bee hive yet. My first one will be mid-april here in Michigan so I guess I need to read some more. That or all you guys with websites that I have been reading are wrong. :-D
Kurt
38/50. I can't wait to get bees!
I got a 38 and a 40.
Its a fun little test. Thaks
26/50 dang I thought I was doing good until the last 5. oh well :)
-pc
I got only 36 correct :'( :'( :'( :-x :( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :)doak
Finally got it to work and got a 33/50. Not bad for someone out of keeping bees for about 25 years now. Will have to find what box my bee keeping books are still packed away in and dig them out.
I'm working myself up a bit. Last night I got a 34. Still reading.
-pc
29. Not bad for a Bad Beekeeper..... And I dispute some of those answers.......lol.........z
36/50
32 out of 50.....not bad for a newb. But I have been reading a LOT.
...35 - I mistakenly answered about four before I even read them (sensitive mousepad) and the wind was in my ears, and I fell asleep twice in the middle, and this is my first year, and I let the cat answer one for me, and...
40 for me :?
34~ some of those questions though... total honey produced by the U.S. in 2000? common do we really need to know that to be good keepers?
I did not do very good 20/50 need to study a bit more
27/50 need to go studying :)
I got 30 as well im an adequate beekeeper I guess that will work for now but ill retest after I hit the books too!!!
The first time I got 37/50 the second I got 43/50.
I keep missing the treatment questions since I don't treat...
18 ouch but then this is my first day
38.
How that ok retention of book smarts carries into the hives remains to be seen...
30/50
39/50...Some of those questions, I was just like ...huh??? :-\
50/50 not to bad for only a few years
39/50. This was fun. Might try again later.
You scored 26/50 correctly. :drowning: :drowning:
First time I got 34 out of 50. Second time I got 38. Both times it said I was a formidable beekeeper. Does that mean I'm terribly dumb?
Internet Explorer will not open up the beekeeping test. :?
BEE HAPPY Jim 134 :)
So that's why I can't open it :?
it shows the page is not avalible
Try it again. I just opened it with both Internet Explorer and Mozilla. It's working fine. It may have just been a glitch in your computer.
33/50 Geeze, I'm a lot better at video games!
Scott
34/50 Better than I thought I'd do. I'll print out the answers & use them as study material. Then retake the test each month. Some questions do seem relative.
It will be interesting to see how long it takes me to get them all right. I wonder how many total questions there are. This is a good source of info for us beginners.
39 out of the 50
34 out of 50 :-\ I didn't realize the questions changed on you! I'm going to try and take it every month and see if I get any smarter.
I got 37 out of 50 twice and 40 out of 50 once. it seems I tend to miss the treatment answers the most. (which explains why I don't do it I guess).

You scored 31/50 correctly.
Ranking: You are an adequate beekeeper.
33 for me ;-)
I scored a 31/50 for a new beekeeper I think that is pretty good. Considering I read a lot of bee books.
Tried twice. Got a 36 both times. Didn't miss the same questions twice.
Someone had to be last (that would admit it) and that would bee me.
21 :-P
Says I seem to have a working knowledge. Of what? :-D
33, but I have yet to fire up a smoker.
42 out of 50
If it would have been closer to 2002 I would have know the color and got 43
good test by the way!!
Thank you for this test. I am an absolute novice, new to this site and have never worked with a bee yet.
The test will help a lot.
I scored a 22
Thanks again.
finally managed to fire it up - scored 41 on first go (I couldn't answer the American specific questions!!)
40 out of 50............. :) like some other posts....thought the full frame would be heavier, had no idea on the 2002 color...heck, don't even know what they are talking about on that one!!! Is it a color for a warning sign?????
The color has to do with what year the queen was raised.
Thanks, I've never come across that info before, but in hindsight that makes perfect sense.
32 I am adequate.
I would hate to be inadequate! I am inadequate in so many other ways.
30/50 - not too bad :-\
After one year of Bees I scored 39/50 with an excellant ranking :-D
37
As I figured, I have a lot to learn.
I took the test twice 2 days apart. I scored a 22/50 at first but today I scored a 28/50, an Adequate beekeeper.
Between the two scores I read a website with information and the book Fruitless Fall by Rowan Jacobson. It was very informative on getting me up to date on the current problems we're having with bees and the other struggling pollinators.
The test seems to be a good general guide on knowledge.
i'm fairly new at this but i still managed 31 out of 50. much better than i thought.
34 out of 50. Question though - Do Queens get AFB and thus become Drone Layers because that is what the answer to one of my test questions implied. Gee, I thought that AFB affected only brood, not adult bees, let alone the Queen. But hey, I am just a newbie!! ;)
I got 33/50. I have seen this test before, but don't remember what I got then.
35/50
33/50 not too bad for a newbee.
Got a question about #40, I will not give away the answer,
Question 40
A lazy beekeeper puts all of his four supers on the bees in the spring of the year. Which statement is true?
a. Empty supers encourage the bees to gather more honey
b. This is called bottom supering
c. The bees will fill one super at a time until all are done
d. All heat in the brood chamber will be lost to the empty space above
Can you really do that?
39 first time, 40 the second. I guess I need more study.
You scored 33/50 correctly.
Ranking: You are an adequate beekeeper.
Thought a few were odd answers...
Happy with a 34! I don't claim to bee an expert.
I got a 27 out of 50. This isn't bad I think. I just started learning about bees about 30 days ago and have watched 2 dvd's and am about a third of the way through "Beekeeping for Dummies".
Bruce
You scored 29/50 correctly.
I need to study a lot more. ;)
Hello,
I got 35/50. Better than I expected!
i scored 30 out of 50
retook got 42/50
How did I get a 53?? :-D
Scott
Either you cheated, or you keep score like my 4 year old. :-D
AllenF funny :-D
I only got 22right Guess I need to study Will try later
48 out of 50 but I just finished a new beekeeping class. Got a 49 out of 50 in the class test and became a certified beekeeper, whatever that means. Great education!
Bruce
I got 36.
Now I just have to get some bees !
30/50
35 outta 50, room for improvement to say the least. :-D
36
I got 33 out of 50 and I don't have any bees yet. I'm feeling really smart right now and I owe some of it to the wisdom being passed around this forum.
33/50 the first time and 43/50 2nd time. Thats alot of fun. I could spend some more time with the books!
31 out of 50. Just ordered my first bees a month ago and have reading and lurking ever since.
Thank you very much
I got 37/50
But I've been reading every day for almost 4 months and got my first bees April 1st of this year.
Guess it payed off,I did much better than I thought I would
24 out of 50.
Only 27, but I'm new. :-D
30 this time. Doing a little better. Had a lot of different questions.
39 this morning!
This test is good for beginners. I have learned a lot.
Larry
43 this time.
Dang Larry, at this rate you'll be an expert by Fri!
Scott
I don't know Scott. Every test has a bunch of new questions on it. Maybe if I take the test enough, then I will know all of them and get a 100%. Larry
25 OUT OF 50. I have been a Beekeepers assistant for 3 weeks, I do not own my own bees yet.
I got a 46! I guessed right on several and the dark gluey stuff in cells is often honey!

33/50
32/50 and 33/50
At least I'm consistently needing to study more!!! :)
Ed
I got 38/50. Not bad for a newbie I think.
Thank you, I had fun. 32/50 and 39/50
Henry
43/50
That was entertaining.
38/50.........good learning tool.....enjoyed it
38 of fifty for me. Most wrong answers were 'treatment related' and since I don't treat I suppose it was expected. Some of the questions didn't leave room for other accepted methods (ie) Under feeding bees, sugar syrup wasn't even mentioned, so I had to choose corn syrup as a safe feed despite disagreeing with its use. Oh well the test proclaims I am a formidable beek so I am satisfied. I'll likely take it again sometime.
thomas
I'm an adequate beekeeper - 31/50 So not as good as some of you...but doing okay... ;)
got 36/50. I think I surprised my self.
Got adequate beekeeper (29/50) the first time and
formidable beekeeper the second time (35/50).
Maybe I'll do better next year when I actually have some bees. :)
Scored 36 of 50
42/50. Among what I missed: Miller method, treating chalkbrood, bees can't see red, Ok to open hive at 60d (I said 70). -James Wagner
got 35 out of 50. Not to bad since Im a newbie and a few questions were about flowers and bee pests, neither of which I havnt experienced yet!
42
Good test, I scored 34 our of 50. The history and honey composition questions got me. Didn't know much about flowers either. Made you think.
32 out of 50. Interesting quiz but some of it wasn't relevant to Aussie beekeeping.
For anyone having trouble opening this in Internet Explorer, try Google Chrome. Worked for me!
32/50 makes me an adequate beekeeper? And to think all my winter reading and video watching.. As the Beemaster said, back to the books and observations. lol
Khalen
33 / 50
Not bad for a beginner.
Joe
27
40/50
Scored a 30 ... which according to the test results makes me an 'adequate beekeeper'. Well, it's official. A test states I'm a beekeeper!
I printed my results and they are now displayed on my beekeeping trophy wall - which aside from the test results is empty. :(
Can someone explain why Brits say 'Bee Keeper' (two words) while we say 'Beekeeper' (One Word) ???
Allegedly an "excellent beekeeper" (I keep hearing this Emperor Palpatine's voice) but this may not be entirely fair; there's at least 5 questions I got right that were guesses. I won't tell if you won't...
I got 36 which I am happy with since I talk Celsius not farenheight and am not particularly familiar with US geography
38 here. Like it said, I did learn a few things.
good evening!
42 from this newbee. Lucky I think. I agree some of the questions were ambiguous. It as fun though.

IE wouldn't work for me either...But firefox worked. You might try another browser or try to unlock your current browser settings. :)
38 here....But there were some questions outside my bee interests, and some questions that needed more information to consider all the possible iterations. It was fun! :)
32 I will have to try again later.
39...
18
dont plan on dealing with at least half of the questions.
32 not as bad as I expected for old guy with a lot dead brain cells. :-)
27/50.
24/50 on the test. I see I have a lot more to learn. Well back to the books for this newbie.
Stacy
It says I am a formidable beekeeper. I got 35/50.
Geez, I am so embarrased. :embarassed: So, I took it again and got 40/50, now I am an excellent beekeeper. Whew, now I feel better. LOL
There were some tough quesitons, like what was the economical impact of honey bee polination in 2001... :?

Wow - 32 out of 50, and I don't even own my own hives yet! I know a number of those were just good guesses, but I think maybe all my studying has done me some good. There's hope for me as a beek yet!
35/50.
35/ and 8 of the ones I missed- I knew the right answer, and 3 of thier answers are debateable. all-n-all I feel prety good.lee...
You scored 36/50 correctly.
A few questions specific to the USA which I did not know.
I guess I know more than I thought. Still lots to learn though.
john
43. Nice that it gives you the answers right after. The number ones tripped me up, number of crops, billions of dollars stuff.
Not sure if I need to remember stats from 2001. Pretty good test.
The site can't be found
Try again. It works fine for me.
I got 34 out of 50. Hmmmm, there's lots to learn.
37!
I'll take it considering I'm two weeks into actually owning bees!
I got a 34, but when I went back through to see what I got wrong--I could swear I answered a number of them with the answer that was given as correct. Still, not bad for someone with no bees yet.
29 out of 50, not bad for just a year of beekeeping.
36 0f 50 here, not bad considering I don't know anything about bees yet...
36/50
I seemed to have an inordinate amount of historical questions. I guess I don't find importance in knowing what date ahb were released, what year trachael mites hit, what year varroa hit, or what queen color was used in 2002. I guess that last one had more to do with me not marking queens than history. I also had a few where I missed the very important which is "NOT" part of the question!
31 :'(
30 for me. If averages say 1 in 4 guesses was correct I knew the answers to about 22! Of course I ain't never seen a Tupelo tree :)
38/50 = 76%
I scored 36 out of 50, back to the books

45, but I guessed on several and got lucky. "Exalted"... I don't think so!
ok... I got 37. Not bad for my first 6 months of keeping bees. That said I agree with MB's comment that it is important to give their answer not the correct one.
Question 39
The use of chemicals in a hive of honey bees is regulated by:?
a. instructions provided by the seller
b. the label of the product
c. the way the beekeeper uses the product
d. none of these
Ultimately, the beekeeper using the product regulates its use. I don't use chemicals except sugar but just because it has a label doesn't mean that they will be used in accordance with the label. That would have been 38... Still looking at some of the others I got wrong.
50 /50 on the Beginners & Advanced 49/50 Not to Bad been studying and researching for two years about honey bees missed one on wind and I still disagree about that one . and I have been working with bees with bees for two month with my mentor and I have yet to get my own bees yet . I am still learning .It was fun though I did enjoy it never tested myself on what i have been learning as there is so much that contradicts each state and country .
I got 36/50 in beginners. Only got started end of Jan 2015.
43/50 on the beginners... started reading everything I could get my hands on in Oct. '14.

38 I'm happy with that.
Bump.

only 38 on the first test but I don't agree with #1 and #40. I know beekeepers that use nothing more than burlap for fuel.
33 on beginner, 31 on advanced, 28 on master. 2nd year beekeeper.
42 on beginner, 38 on advanced- need to hit the books

39/50 on the beginner test. Only had bees a week but I?ve been reading for over a year.
Some of those answers are utterly incorrect...
Well on the swarming question, I would pick "none of the above" if it were offered... Adding supers is ineffective during prime swarm season and the rest are ineffective at any time.
