I opened one of my hives to find green mold in the outer frames, specifically in the combs themselves. Does anyone have a suggestion as to the best way to remove the mold
where are you? you can add your location in your profile.
as the bees begin to build up, they will clean that up. you can facilitate this by moving those frames closer to the middle or into the next box you add. put them in position 3 and 7 in your upper box.
how many frames do you now have covered with bees?
It is a standard 10 frame 9 5/8 box. The mold has begun to form on the outside frames on one side.

Mold, during winter, is a common occurrance, especially on the outer colder frames. If there is stores still left in them you can move them more towards the main cluster. In either case, as the weather get warmer the bees will clear up the mold and repair the combs.
