Last year someone recommended melting wax and rolling a coat onto plastic foundation for better acceptance. I tried it on alternating frames in a super and found they were building it out first, so it seemed like a good idea. I have a few new hives with duraglit regular cell for hive body and was wondering if applying wax creates a smaller cell foundation.
Thanks,
Tracy
the cell size is determined by the spacing of the cell walls
coating the foundation with wax doesn't change this, so the answer is no

If you had fully drawn comb (such as Honey Super Cell or PermaComb) then yes. If you have just foundation, the walls that the bees build will be 0.1mm no matter how thick you make the base of the wall, so it will not change the spacing.
