Title: Question on the Triangle Bee Escape Board
Post by: jester7891 on February 04, 2009, 06:47:26 PM
I saw an ad for one of these devices.  Apparently you put it under the super you plan on removing the day before.  The bees can go down but not back up.  The next day, the super is pretty much cleared of bees.  Does this thing work?  I am also looking at extractors.  Do I really ever need an extractor that fits the 11 inch deep supers? I only have 2 hives and collecting honey is not my main objective.
                             Thanks,    Jester

if there is no brood above the triangle bee escape, and no gaps for the bees to get back into the honey supers, it will work.  As for the extractor, if you use medium or shallow honey supers, you will find no use for one that fits deep frames.
