w00t my hive arrived from dant today and I am so looking forward to getting home and building it.  I plan on taking my time and savoring every min with my 8 yr. old son when putting it together, he has been looking forward to the bee's since last summer even if his mother is not (lol). :-D

You will enjoy every minute you spend with your son building the bee hive.  Get him a veil and gloves too so he can join you on your further adventures in beekeeping.  Go to GI Joe's, or similar, and buy a military surplus mosquito net. It is light and easy to use and usually only costs about $4-5 bucks. It also makes a good one to carry around for those unexpected swarms etc.  I bought 3 when I had the chance and wish I'd bought twice as many.  I don't have enough to let all my grandkids watch at the same time.
Anything Dads and kids can spend together doing is well worth the time.
