Title: Washington DC Beekeepers here????
Post by: EasternShore on February 21, 2009, 07:25:30 AM
Have a great rooftop site for cherry blossum flow...is it worth carting a hive 5 stories up for this. The site is protected and is only a mile from the cherry tree's.

I've never tried this so any locals PLEASE chime in...

Not east coast, but here is thought to ponder.

What other bloom do you have once the cherry is over (that's a few weeks out of the year)?

In DC I think I'd rather put a few hives on a small barge where I could move it around on the city water ways from one bloom spot to another.  A short gangplank is an easier move that 5 stories without or even with an elevator.
