Title: Candy Plugs
Post by: bassman1977 on February 23, 2009, 12:33:51 PM
Does anyone know where to get the candy plugs for installing into queen cages?  I don't want suggestions for marshmallows or anything like that.  I am looking for the actual plugs that a queen supplier would use.  I've checked Mannlake, Brushy Mountain, and Dadant already.  No luck.  Thanks.

Do you mean the candy plug or the cork plug?

I've never done it, but aren't candy plugs just homemade from sugar?

The candy plug.

I'm sure they can be made easily enough at home.  Even a recipe would be fine for what I need.  I just don't see a major queen supplier hand making this stuff.  So, a recipe would be fine, a supplier would be great too, for future reference.
