I had posted on the trading post for some drawn comb and one of the guys sent me a link for a 4.9 plasticel After reading the site I noticed one of the comments was "for advanced users" I am wondering what kind of problems you have with cell regression. canyou just buy a bunch of 4.9 and put it in the brood cells? or do you have issues with the workers being to big to maintain it???
SImple engineering tells me it wouldn't be good for food or honey storage (too much wall space wasted) but smaller brood for mites doesn't seem all bad?
I haven't really had any severe issues with mites, but that comment made me wonder?
I would like to know what site you are referring to. Didn't know they made 4.9 plasticell, are you talking about permacomb?
It may take a few generations but bees will regress if given the opportunity.
I use starter strips in brood nest and let them build whatever size they want to.

You can buy HSC (Honey Super Cell) - fully drawn 4.9 frames, and instantly regress them at the same time.
