just a quick photo of our local thistle flower with a few visitors :lol:

waOOOOO...I want flowers tooooo!  The only thing starting to bloom are some of the early camelias & poppit weeds :-x  J

Bailey walking through my field yesterday I saw  abunch of bees in the thistle. Its neat to see them digging way down deep into the flower so much they almost disappear inside the flower. I also noticed a few that looked as if they came in to fast and were impaled on the spikes. I had my niece with me and she was amazed by all the different bugs that cover these plants

all i know is that it is called thistle down here.
i have lived all over the south, ( louisiana mississippi arkansas texas and tennesee )
the only place i have ever seen this plant is in south louisiana.
dont think that it is  canadian thistle bjorne, sorry

keith, aint it fun to watch the bees dig into these? they almost vanish into the flowers.
