Title: Drones
Post by: Jerrymac on February 27, 2005, 04:52:09 PM
Temp is up to about 60F here and I strolled out to check the bees. I have the hive sitting on a pallet and was sitting on the ground close by the pallet just watching them. I looked down and saw a bee on the pallet a couple of feet from the hive. Then I took another look and realized it was a drone. This guy looked big compared to the other bees. BUT!!!!! He didn't hardly have any wings. What little wings I did see was like the last quarter inch of a tooth pick.

Any thoughts?

Sounds to me like DWV(Deformed Winged Virus) from the mites.
