Title: TBHs
Post by: slaphead on April 06, 2009, 02:02:48 AM
Lots of TBH threads today.  It's almost enough to get me off the the fence and building one.  Hmmm, perhaps if I catch a swarm......

:-D

Someone best talk me out of this or I'm going to be busted..

Go ahead! You might like it. We went through 13 Langs and two Long Hives yesterday.  If the Long Hives had been Langs we never would have made it.  Bad or just tired backs love TBHs.

I would rather talk you into it. ;)
I think they are a great thing to try. I am going to have both the langs and the TBH this year.
I like the idea of trying different methods.
From what I hear you may not get as much honey and you will get more wax but thats fine with me.
I like the concept of it and since more people are trying them you will probably be able to get more support and information than you would have a few years ago.

Tempting though a TBH most certainly is, I've decided to stay focused on natural comb Langs this season.  Will probably build a TBH-based observation hive to set up next spring once the spring rush is behind me.

Thanks all,
