I bought some from betterbee, they came in today. Very impressive, quick and easy to install.
Used to close off entrance of any style langstroth or beemax hive. They are made from rust-free aluminum. Under two bucks.
A single tack holds them in place, use two tacks for longer moves.
I just love how quickly you can close off the entrance with these things when moving hives. They're vented also.
I would provide a link but they don't come up on betterbee's site.
On page 21 of their catalog.
Anyway, just wanted to pass this along.

Thanks for the link. I searched their site using the exact words and nothing came up.
Gonna move 4 hives to our property tomorrow. It took all of 2 minutes to seal them!

Funny you posted this JP last week i made some out of wood that are a different style than this one, that i was going to sell on my website. What i had planned to use them for is when if ever i collect a swarm, once you have them in the box you can wait a little while and just put a nail in it to hold it on. They provide much needed ventilation while moving bees to. I will post some pictures of the ones that i built later and maybe figure out a price to sell them at. The only prolem would be that the shipping would proboly be more than the entrance closures themselves. :-P
I think i could sell mine for $1.80-1.90 and pay for my labor and products.
Here are the pictures of mine:

All you need is to put a nail in it to hold it onto a hive.
JordonM;
Now put a closeable opening in the top of it and guess what ?
You also have robber screen !
Two for the price of one !!
Hey,we're talking BIG money here now !!
Go for it !!
Bee Keeping just a expensive hobby.

I like the "screen door" style better. Is the betterbee one screened?

The sliding door part is solid, but the main part is I guess perforated would be the best word. Just a bent piece of aluminum with lots of holes drilled in it.
