Title: Nice Local Swarm
Post by: Scott Derrick on April 24, 2009, 12:42:02 AM
Picked this swarm up in the east part of town yesterday. This was my second swarm for the day. Very gentle bees. Gave them to a fellow beekeeper.

That one looked like my kind of swarm. Easy to reach.  Just love your photos, so clear and close.  They make the bees look so adorable like they are.

Nice pics! I see that most folks are using cardboard boxes instead of nucs when they grab a swarm... is it easier to catch/transport with the cardboard instead of using a nuc? I have a nuc set aside just for a swarm catch. Just curious.....

You are right, that is a nice swarm. I admire you for sharing your good fortune. I plan to do the same when I get better established.
