Title: How to Manually Free Queen from Plastic Cage?
Post by: BeekeeperInKingGeorgeVA on April 27, 2009, 06:46:26 PM
Hi folks,

A newbie question, I'm sure, but I wonder how to go about manually freeing the queen from the JZ-BZ-type plastic queen cage I put between the frames a few days ago, assuming the bees haven't already chewed the candy and freed her already?

Regards,

Tim

There is a plug next to the candy tube.  Pull the plug out and then the candy tube can be twisted to the side opening the whole end of the cage.
