Title: Rather Be Lucky Than Good, Anyday! May 6, 2009
Post by: JP on May 07, 2009, 01:13:27 AM
This past Friday I had a swarm call I couldn't get to in time and they left.

Today I got a call from the house next door to where the swarm was. The bees were in between two vertical studs approximately 5" apart.

This could have been a very involved job but I lucked out and was able to pull two feet of comb up and out of a void that ran all the way to the bottom plate between those narrowly spaced studs and behind the window framing.

Thank God I didn't have to remove the window framing, would have been a pain in the you know what!

The third comb section had the queen. The hive had no capped brood but fresh eggs throughout in just about every cell of one of the comb sections.

The lady who called me said they had had bees before but thought they had been on the front left, these were on the front right.

I believe these combs were there in the wall and the bees were from the swarm on Tuesday and the queen literally laid the eggs I saw today.

There were quite a bunch of bees, so many I set them up in two deeps.

JP, hee, haw, go, go, go.....your days must filled through and through with fun and joy, smiling.  Send me a swarm to catch, that would be a cool thing.  Only have caught 3 in my lifetime.....well, guess I should make that clearer, only three in my 4 years with the bees, smiling.  Beautiful days, to love, live and share, health.  Cindi
