When a box is dipped in rosin and wax dose the wood swell from absorbing the material like it would from water?
No.
If it don't swell, and you are putting together new boxes you can dip the pieces, then put the super together? If this works it would require a smaller tank and less wax, rosin and heat for dipping. If you use glue, will the glue adhere to the wax and rosin?

That's what I thought, but the board would all get stuck together and the wax wouldn't penetrate between two stacked up board and doing them one board at a time is way to time consuming.

I was thinking I could get more in at a time.

Probably not.

Could you drive 4 finish nails into each board leaving about 1/8" of the nail head sticking out as a spacer, set the boards on end in the tank, and treat?
Dose the propolis stick to the treated wood as much as bare wood?

Sounds like too much work for me. It tried to put slats of wood between but it was more work than it was worth. It was easier to just assemble them.
