Was out checking my equipment late today...had some empty deep frames in two shallow supers just kind of waiting for me to fill...A swarm decided to move in...no foundation, no starter strips..nothing!!!
LOL...
I carefully installed a few loaded frames and a frame of brood from one of my boomers..These local Bees LOVE ME!!!..no need to do swarm calls here..they come to me...LMAO!!!
Wow. I've had an empty hive sitting on my hive stand for 5 years, waiting for a swarm to set up housekeeping. No dice! ;)
this is my second...really feeling the Bee love..
Don't let him kid ya! He sits out there playing a little flute, sittin' cross legged yoga style, on a rug....he charms those bees I am tellin' ya. :-D
That is really cool!
Brenda
My little flute must be finely tuned. I had two, maybe three move into empty hives today. One is either two, or is having trouble deciding which of two hives they want to settle in.
Where do you get a flute like that?
Joan
Swarms love the smell of bee yards and bee boxes. I had one show up the other day on my back patio coming from the north from across two yards over.
The non bee keeping community freaks out at such occurrences, while we are jumping in our skin out of pure joy!

We just feel really blessed...My Bee operation has gone from 3 test hives for building to 11 hives, 5 of which are now in Bee Heaven on a farm nearby. The owner there could not find ANYONE to pollenate and called me after I left a card with his kids at farmers market here. When I stopped by I was AMAZED at the sheer volume of his operation. So far I've seen, 1 acre blueberries, 2 acres of peachs, 2 acres of rasberries, 1 acre of strawberries, Blackberries and tons of other veggies. Next year he plans on setting 10 acres of mellons. I'm OVERJOYED. They also want to sell the honey produced by my bees.
They also are planning on planting another 4 acres of Strawbrerries for nest year.
My on site hives are BOOMING..in 4 days they filled a shallow with comb and nectur. We never dreamed this would happen so fast, careful what you wish for...
I would make some queens and start making nucs asap! You have a veritable bee gold mine on your hands with that guy.
Get in there while things are ripe for the taking!

sounds like you found a good place for your bees, and an outlet for honey sales.
better start makeing some boxes and nailing up frames.
Bees don't waste any time drawing out comb when there is a flow on, it still amazes me at how fast they can work.

OH..no worries folks...10 deeps ordered...2 nuc's cooking...all frames filled already with foundation...I'm grinning like a Quarterback on his first date with the Lead Cheerleader...
My only issue is no queens out here..I've already robbed my parent hives of all but 1 queen cell each.
Will be taking those over as soon as I'm set up.
It's raining here AGAIN...GEEZ..I guess the big guy upstairs wants me to rest...
Eastern Shore,
Thats great news. You are doing great! 11 hives and still going. The swarms must love you.
Mike.
Checked my farm site...The girls are working like crazy making honey, looks like all nucs are now queened up and life is good. Went into the hives bareback...no veil..nothing..not even a bump.
They all are filling the supers and drawing wax. Tested the honey...OMG....
Waiting on my observation hive...woohoo
Sounds like you got it going on, I'm glad for you.
