Title: Plasticell question
Post by: patook on May 16, 2009, 04:56:00 AM
I have been using plasticell which I put in my frames. Does it matter which way is up on plasticell? I assumed since I saw no markings, that the foundation was straight and the bees would create the angle. Is this true?

I hope your right,I used some of that too and I didn't see a up or down to it.

I usually use the wax foundation but I do have a couple dozen frames with the plastic foundation and I do not remember an up or down to it.  That is the type of thing that I would have looked for before assembling the frame.  Even if there is an up-side / down-side to them and you got it wrong, the bees would end-up getting the angle that they need.  They are persistent little construction engineers when it comes to building what they need.

My concern is that they would either not draw comb on the foundation or create mostly burr comb on it.

Correct.

If there are score marks on 2 corners,  they should go down.
