Title: Queen castle venting
Post by: rast on May 26, 2009, 08:58:07 PM
I have seen that several of the castle's offered for sale state that they have a vented bottom board. Anyone know what they are doing for venting?

I have not seen the ones being sold, but the one I made I vented by drilling a hole and putting wire mesh over the inside.  I vented front and back and also a screen covered hole in the plywood cover over each section.  If it is cold any or all can be covered or plugged.  I did not vent the bottom....Jim

The one Cedar Glen Bee's is making (Pat. Pending)* has a SBB with a solid plate that will cover it.  Unfortunately you have to take all of the divider boards out to remove the cover.  It also has 3 frames per compartment and the feeders are designed into it.

* Did you know that Pat. Pending is the worlds most productive inventor?  His name seems to be on every new item that comes to market.
