Title: She's not laying
Post by: Potlicker1 on May 31, 2009, 12:19:53 AM
Ok, I have one of 8 nucs with a queen who is not laying. It's been 3 weeks and I'm not sure what to do. All the other ones are doing ok but this one has stalled. Should I give them a couple frames of brood with the hope she'll start, or am I just putting off the inevitable. NO pollen, NO necture, NO NOTHING?

Give them a frame with some eggs in with the brood... if she doesn't get the hint, then maybe they'll decide to replace her using one of the eggs.  If nothing else, the extra brood will help buy you some extra time to get a replacement queen.
