I have that machine and it is a God send. The last 2 years, we used a 4 frame hand crank, until we got this jewel. We love it and I would tell everyone out there to get one. Top quality and the machine will last forever.

My uncle has been using this very extractor for the better part of 15 or 20 yrs now. It is an outstanding machine that has proven to be very reliable! The only thing that he "complains" about was the smallish whole they use for the honey drain, but all extractors I have seen have the same smallish hole. He just took his to the local machine shop and had them put a 4" whole in it with a bulkhead type fitting. The other thing I might add is that he had his own legs for the unit made. This was more just to "custom" fit it into his set up though I think.
I spoke with Jake, the owner, today. One heck of a guy, gonna order it tomorrow!

I bought this shortly after tax time and can't wait to use it. Being in the manufacturing field for many years I can say this is one solid machine. I have ran it to see how it works. If I were you I would run it empty for the first time with the lid on it for a little bit to wear the belt in because the belt throws a few particles for a couple of minutes then it will clear up. The belt seems to need a break in period then your good to go. Can't wait to run my first supers through it. And Jake was so easy to do business with. When I bought mine they were in the process of making them so it took a little longer than if he would have had one on hand so I kept sending emails to see how things were going. I'm sure I bugged him way to much but he never got aggravated and always answered back very quickly and made me feel really at ease. Some day I hope to do business again with them for a wax melter and uncapper but that is way in the future. :-D
Thanks for the tip Trapper!

OH JP you are just gonna love this I can tell from what the beeks are saying. Glad you decided to make your life a bit easier by getting this. You deserve this machine.
OH by the way, that duck is Whoppo II. You have to give up your craving for Whoppo the first.
Yes, Ordered it today!
Annette, are you saying that duck is an imposter!
...JP
Whatever it is, I am sure it will taste just as delicious as the "real" Whoppo. There can be only one Whoppo!!!
I have the 20 frame Dadant extractor that is quite similar, except it holds 20 deep and 36 mediums instead of 10 and 20. It's only 30 inches in diameter to the Maxant 26.5". It works great. It's over 20 years old now and works like new. Frames drop right in. No mods needed. And yes, the bottom is conical. Best part is I got it used for $400. It would take far to long to pay off a $1200-1500 extractor in honey for my taste.
I have a smaller electric Maxant extractor that I am very pleased with. Had a little problem with it at first but got on phone with owner Jake . He overnighted me a new part ,when I say overnighted it was here b-4 I even got out of bed.
Now thats what I like sbout about a company ,service and a mans word, that holds alot of water with me. jimmy
Well JP did you get it yet :?

How long does it take to clean up JP and let's see the pic's :)
I've used mine twice now and love it. I'm very very happy with it. I did'nt need one so big but I'm planning for the futur decided if I bought one I would get it big enough so I would not have to replace it any time soon. And I'm glad that I chose this one. I'm sure it will be around for a very long time. Besides, my wife was all for it and that does'nt happen every day. :-D
My wife likes mine too Bob, that's always good!
...JP
JP WHERE DID YOU ORDER IT FROM? AND HOW MUCH DID IT COST? I'M LOOKING AT BUYING SOMETHING ABOUT THAT SIZE.
tHANKS, LEECHMANN
Cut-outs must pay good :-D!!! Congrats ;).
I ordered mine straight from maxant and he was great to work with.
Sorry guys, I didn't see the last three posts, so I'm late responding. Bob, glad you got yours, its great, isn't it?
Yeah, I dealt with Jake and he was a pleasure to work with. Wearing my Maxant hat everyday!

Now is the time to graduate. You are making lots of honey and need a good rugged, simple, powerful, workhorse machine to generate volume. Manually adjusted speed control. Rugged ¼ HP motor. No comparison to other machines on the market. This is unique! Will extract wood or plastic frames with no modifications.

I bought the heavy duty legs also.

I like those legs. I thought they would be the typical thin steel sheeting you see formed into channel style legs and they were real channel iron and the belts instead of gears I think is a real plus. When gears break you have real problems. If a belt wears out I can get in my car and in 15 minutes have another one. And the manual adjustment for the speed means I don't have to worry about some electronic device going out and not being able to find it later I just think that over all it's just a good design.
