Title: The flow is finished here, frames 90% capped.
Post by: derrick1p1 on June 08, 2009, 04:06:16 PM
I have 3 questions related to my harvest.

Our flow here is over and nearly every frame in about 8 supers is 85-90% capped.  I pulled those that were fully capped and harvested. If I leave on, I'm afraid they will not finish capping. Should I harvest and hope for the best?

From those that were harvested, doesn't seem as thick as last year.  Could capped honey have hirhger water content due to all of the rain we've had? should I return this honey to the bees?

Thanks for any insight y'all may have.

I would harvest it.  Just make sure that when you shake the frame it the uncapped doesn't come out.  As long as it doesn't come out you should be o.k.
