I caught a swarm 13 days ago. I checked the hive four days after and I thought I seen the queen. I checked the hive today and did not see any eggs or the queen. My eyes are not the best. I think I had a queen from a swarm last year that took three weeks to start laying. So how long
if it's a virgin, it can take forever (seems like). last virgin queen i got took 3 weeks. got a really nice swarm this year with a nice fat queen, but she took almost 2 weeks to get going, while another swarm queen got going right away.
A mated queen on drawn out comb should lay almost immediately. Virgins need to mate, then 3-5 days afterwards if comb is available.
But then again, factors unbeknowest to us could push things back a bit such as no flow on, etc...
