Title: Sarah and David
Post by: Jerrymac on June 15, 2009, 08:25:18 PM
Sarah Palin should not have made such a big stink over what David Letterman said and excepted his invitation to be on the show. Then let it be known....

"I enjoy a good joke.... Just wondering when you're going to tell one."

:-D    Sounds like an old one-liner from George M. Cohan (OK, I watch "Yankee Doodle dandy way too often!)

Who? What?

I'll have you know that was an original.  :-\

I guess our human sense of humor must be genetic --   :)  Either that, or you are the reincarnation of G.M. Cohan (you don't tap-dance, do you?)  :-D

No tap dancing here.

Me, either...the knees won't take the stress! Gardening & keeping an eye on my bees is about all I care to deal with (until school starts again -- then it's grading and keeping an eye on my students)....

How far are you from Jackson Mississippi? My son-in-law works for a satilitte dish TV company and he and a few others from here are going to Jackson to help out a dish TV company there. U guess they are backed up. Hows the weather there?

From my place (southeast of Birmingham) to Jackson is about 3-4 hours. Weather's been stormy, but that's all moved to Georgia....Alabama and Mississippi can expect hot (mid-90's), dry weather through this weekend.

My daughter used to be the franchise editor for a Jackson-area magazine called "Portico"....from the pix and articles I read, it's a beautiful area. Moderate residential growth, too -- imagine there'll be plenty of new installations going in!

I spent a week there when my truck broke down. Granted the interstate was beat up and under construction at the time but I thought Jackson looked a little.... trashy? Is that the word I am looking for? a bit dirty? Pictures can make it look good with the right filters and touch ups.

You're probably right -- I've never been to Jackson (heard the Carter/Cash song, though, if that counts!) -- all I know is what was in the magazine. I guess if I was confronted with the un-airbrushed reality, it might be as disappointing as seeing the pimples on a Bunny's...face... (which I have seen)!

Was that week one night or two?

It was a good solid week. I had one of those new trucks at the time, 1990 Volvo/GMC with a Caterpillar engine. When computer control of the engine was fairly new. They practically rebuilt the whole engine.
