Title: need help
Post by: Patty on June 26, 2009, 03:52:56 PM

Hi all,  I have a hive in my chimney, I have read the post by Iddee on how to make a trap-out, but knowing nothing about bees I

don't understand why the bees don't just go back thought the cone the way they came out?  and would you still need the catch

box if I don't intend on keeping the hive.  I sorry I'm so thick  :?  if theres a book or something else i can read please let me know

I am not sure where you live, but perhaps you can get some local beekeeper to remove them for you? Thus saving the hive?

we live about 10 miles south of Colorado Spgs Co.  I have call a couple of beekeepers nither wanted to help, I think it would be easy

to remove them, if you new how, because the chimney is flat on top and there comb is right in the top of the inside, but it could go

down a long way.  If there is any one in my area please let me know.  Thanks Patty

I didn't understand that either.  The answer is in this thread.

There is a thread called "Trapout in Progress" or something along those lines just a few threads below this one that has the answer to that question.  I can't post the link due to my low post count.
