I took a frame out of my italian hive the other day, stressed the guys, today I noticed a young white not fully developed bee at the entrance dead. What happened with the guy? It's been really cool and they haven't been able to get out much. They have been doing great up until now and I fed until everything started blooming huge here the last two weeks.
Ideas? How often do you see dead bee girls at this stage being disposed of?
Possibly in removing the frame, you uncapped a larvae - they dragged the carcass out to the entry - won't do them any good inside. Bees die every day and when we go into the hive a certain number get killed in the service of beekeeper knowledge-gathering.

Thanks Linda! Geez, I'm so protective of them, sat and watched them bring in pollen for a few hours. Fighting the desire to feed them again, but it's time to let them do what bees do and forage for themselves now. Hopefully, we'll stay in the 60's all week and the sun will prevail so they can feed themselves.
