Howdy folks, Just a quick question. If you believe you have a failing queen but can't find her in the hive to remove her. What will happen if you introduce a new caged queen? Thank's, Brad
Acouple of things could happen.................
They will kill the new queen
They will kill the old queen and accept the new queen
They will kill the new queen, kill the old queen and if there are eggs make a queen cell
Do you still have eggs in the hive? Sometimes they can tell that the queen is failing or injuried and will build supercidure cells to take here place.

I guess anything is possible. ;) But killing the new caged queen accounts for about 99% of what will happen. I would not count on anything else happening.
You really need to find her. Also make certain there are no supersedure cells before you introduce a new queen, if there are, tear them down and throw them out.
