This is my first year beekeeping. My bees are working on the first honey super (deeps are full). At what point do I add a second super? How much honey (in 8oz bottles) should I expect from a med. super? And lastly, what are 8 oz. bottles of raw honey selling for now?
Thanks!
Alan
Well, I am a first year newbee and am hoping myself to maybe get a little harvest this year. Obviously I have never sold even a drop of honey. But, "Bee Culture" magazine has a monthly chart showing regional spot prices for honey. You are in Zone 7. They don't list an 8oz. bottle. They do list a 12 oz bottle, and the July issue says $3.27 per 12 oz. bottle in your zone. $8.44 per pt., and 9.70 per qt.
Here in Maryland I am selling 1/2 pints for $5.00 and 1 pint for $8.00. This is for Raw honey. I have been doing very well with these prices.
I am just starting to sell quart jars for $12.00
Good Luck.

Thanks, mustbeenuts! That's a great place to start from, a nice average.
I sell 12oz bears for $5, 2lb ovals for $10 and quarts for $14. I could probably get more if I was really into marketing. There seems to be no shortage of folks who want all natural, local honey and are willing to pay for it, especially around Christmas.

How do you find your market to sell it to?
