Hello all,
I moved the bees that were in our outside ceiling on Friday. I can't thank Leo Gosser from The Broward Beekeepers Assosiation enough for being there to guide/help us through this part of the beekeeping experience. I could not have done this myself ever. I don't know if anyone saw the links I put up on my bee page but, a lot of my friends did. I took lots of hi definition video of the whole process from the moment I fired up the saw until even this morning.
I will tell the story with more detail when I finish editing the videos. It's a long story but I think it was highly educational. I had full gear on and still got stung around 15 times.Through the gloves and my pants mostly. I lived . Not counting the amount of honey on the floor, scaffold and everywhere else I ende up with a little over 3 gallons of honey after straining.
The camera will be running on the entrance to the beebox today while I am out if you wanna see the new activity. I am stepping out for the day to try and play bass guitar this afternoon and tonight with an index finger that got stung 3 times and hurts like all heck. That should be interesting.
links are on the myspace page at mysignature on this post.
Good day,
Billy
Probably interesting for the myspace folks. Those of us that don't do the social networking will just have to imagine what it was like.
Good luck with the new hobby.
Congrats! Cutouts are alot of work!
