Title: Just checked first honey super
Post by: gardeningfireman on July 20, 2009, 05:02:42 PM
I just checked my first med. super on my first hive (first year, also). I took out one frame, leaving nine. Out of the nine left in, six are at least half loaded with honey. Three are almost completely filled on both sides, mostly capped. I am so excited!!! I ordered another super, and bottles in anticipation of a nice harvest. I had expected to maybe fill one super this first year, but being that it is still so early, now I think I will get at least two!

Congratulations.  We expect to get one each from two of our hives.  The others are slow to build and will need feeding.
