Title: What temp for storing?
Post by: beehappy1950 on August 16, 2009, 11:47:12 PM
What temp is ideal for storing honey in plastic buckets? I am new at this. My first year I bought a 9-18 extractor and just got 4 pints of honey. That is about enough to coat the sides of the extractor. Ha. This year I am looking at maybe 15 supers. So I may have need to store some. My basement has floor heat so it may be too warm. 75 or so. Up stairs usually is 70. Yes its warm but its wood heat so its cheaper. Ha. Hope to hear some advise. Thanks Harold

The warmer the better, but under 110 or 120 I would think.
75 should work fine
Warmer helps keep it from crystallizing.
Freezing is good too, keeps it from crystallizing, if you've got room in one.
