Title: Honey Super placement question
Post by: harvey on August 20, 2009, 10:48:22 PM
I put a super on top of two deep brood boxes and for three weeks the bee's didn't draw any comb.  Just as a trial and error I put the super in between the top and bottom deep brood boxes.  In about a weeks time the bees had the super half drawn with comb.  I still have about four weeks at least of golden rod blooming.  Should I now move the super up above the brood box or will the honey arch (I think that is what it is called.  As the top brood box is full of honey and brood) stop the bees from moving up and storing honey in the top?

Also I was wondering if maybe I should put another super that is not drawn out in between the two deeps?  or am I asking to much this late in the year?
