Title: Beeks in TN (sevier area)
Post by: marliah on August 31, 2009, 08:10:31 PM
We just moved here from Maine and I want to get some honeybees set up asap. Any fellow beeks in the area? anyone know where I can find some bees and beekeeping equipment? or maybe someone on the forum has a hive they are looking to sell.

Thanks!

- Tara

You have several people in the area.  Long Creek Apiary in Parrotsville, if you want Russian (423)-623-2345.  There is another bee supplier in East Tennessee near Jonesboro, I believe.  I bought mine from Chadwell Bee supply in Oliver Springs(865)-435-7502.  There is another on the West side of Morristown.  Not sure of the name, but they sell all kinds of bee products and I'm sure they sell bees also.  Maybe someone else on here can give you more information.  I have a father-in-law that lives in Kodak, but I haven't got him into bees yet.

Hey there,

I wish I had known earlier about you wanting to sell your hive. I would have been interested in it.
As for bees in TN.  You could try Ruth Seaborn in Centerville...I really don't know where that is in relation to you, but I believe Centerville is somewhere near Nashville area.

Ruth sells small cell bees...already regressed.

Contact info:
Ruth    Seaborn    [email protected]    931-729-9229    930 Highway #438    Centerville, TN

I have bought packages from her before....good bees.

Hi all,

I just wanted to add my endorsement for Ruth Seaborn (and John) down at Wolf Creek Apiaries in Centerville, TN.

I just finished a podcast series with John discussing organically managed beekeeping practices that they use. If you're interested you can find me in iTunes under "Organically Managed Beekeeping Podcast" or go to my user name .com

And, no this is not an advertisement. I'm not selling anything.  :-D  Its purely a labor of love.

The Seaborns are great people and they have great bees!

Best,
SoMDBeekeeper

I suggest you google Long Creek Apiary & perhaps research the Better Business Bureau before ordering from them.  Sorry to say, but prior experiences had taught me a lesson.  :-\
