Very nice. The bees should pay more rent just because of the view.

Show off :-D look's great
Excellent - that looks like an ad picture. Makes me want some honey. Do you do all foundationless, or just for the cut comb? The thickness looks very even despite the varying centre line.
Hi David,
This year I put a box of wired and a box of unwired on most of the hives. I've friend who has a heather extractor for extracted honey from the wired frames (heather honey needs a special machine which stirs the honey in each individual cell as it is jelly like - you can see this in the photo). I only put a starter strip in for the cut comb frames - not sure why the cells are so uneven in this piece? I tried to choose one of the nicer looking pieces for the photo. Some of the combs went a bit wild due to the fact that I'd spaced the frames in some boxes too far apart. Apparently the bees will build wild comb unless the flow is very strong with widely spaced frames. I'm switching to 100% castelated spacers next season, as I find the end spacers too much trouble (and they keep the frames far apart).

Andrew, beeeeautiful!!!! Now I have to ask. That picture where the hives are, is that the heather field, now dormant? I toggled between that picture in this post and the picture of the heather field and the farmland in the background to see if they were the same place (remember I put that heather field as my desktop patttern, smiling?). I am kind of thinking that it is the same place, but man oh man, with the heather and the green fields in the original picture, this picture sure does look desolate. Please tell me is the pictures are both of the same place, I would just love to know, and you know, curiosity never got this cat. Have a most beautiful and wonderful day, great health. Cindi
