I've got tons of extra burr comb that I'm going to try to melt down and reuse...maybe make some candles for friends or something...
What's a good (preferably homemade...more fun that way) method for melting down this wax, get rid of floating debris, etc., and reuse...?
Any good design tips or helpful hints? What do you dudes think? What do yall do? Help a newbee out! :?:
thanks!

Plans for solar wax melter.

There is plans for a wax melter in "Keeping Bees" by John Vivian that use a deep super, metal paint tray, piece of hardware cloth, and a piece of glass. Much simpler design for small amounts of wax. Go to your library and sign out the book. There is a lot of good info in the book.
Or you can just use a simple double boiler on your cook stove.
Take a look at this. :D

Thanks for the replies guys...
Jay, that repost was exactly the kind of system I was looking for. Cheap, homemade, and effective. Thanks!
