Title: Goldenrod flow
Post by: jimmy on October 03, 2009, 06:55:51 PM
My bees are as busy as I have seen them in months. I have been feeding like crazy but finally some relief from the sugar industry.  Hope it last  for a while.

I've got the same situation in Richmond Va. I don't know what they are after, but they are as busy as they have ever been. Rockin and rollin at first light this morning. So many coming and going that I had to triple check to make sure it wasn't a robbing situation. I haven't fed at all, but it looks like they will really pack in the winter stores this week. I've never harvested yet on this 16 month old hive, but it is 3 medium supers...if they completely cap all frames in the top super, I may just have to steal a couple of frames for my first harvest and taste! 8-)

Started my hive in June 08....didn't take any honey the first fall and they made it thru winter ok. Was really hoping to harvest quantity this year, but guess it wasn't meant to be...

Hoping to do an early split next Spring and double my odds.

Take care!
